Adsorption of Miscellaneous Organic Compounds in Water

Adsorption studies of miscellaneous organic compounds from water are conducted with the aim of purification of water from spilled liquid fossil fuels and various by-products of industrial organic chemical synthesis. These studies on mesoporous metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are rather limited. Adsorption of benzene on MIL-101(Cr) was tested at 25°C in an aqueous solution at the initial concentration C0 = 1000 ppm (Jhung et al. 2007); see also Table 7.1.
